Save the Children Italy (STC IT) was established in late 1998 as a non-profit organization and started its activities in 1999. Today, Save the Children Italy is a Non-Governmental Organization recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that operates both in developing countries and in Italy. The mission of Save the Children Italy is to protect children’s rights, delivering immediate and lasting improvements to their lives worldwide, applying a childrights-based approach. STC IT works on education, poverty and deprivation, child trafficking, migrant children and the impact of new information technologies on children’s rights.

KMOP, founded in 1977, is one of the oldest civil society organizations in Greece, with an extensive experience in supporting people through the provision of direct social services and the implementation of social initiatives. Over the last years, the organization has established international presence, being active today in 7 countries, and operating permanent offices in Athens, Thessaloniki, Brussels and Skopje. The organization is dedicated to making a positive impact in society through in-depth research and the design of innovative interventions that address critical social issues, enlighten public debate and enhance policy formation, nationally and internationally. KMOP is missioned to contribute to effective social policy design and to lead initiatives that promote individual well-being, eliminate vulnerabilities, and foster social justice and sustainable growth. We actively support individuals and communities by providing direct social services, implementing innovative programs, offering educational opportunities, as well as focusing on research and policy design based on our extensive experience in the field.

The Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) is a private non-profit research organization mostly funded by the Autonomous Province of Trento (Italy) that promotes research in the areas of science, technology, and humanities. FBK has as its objectives scientific excellence, innovation, and technology transfer. The two research centers involved in the project are the Centre for Religious Studies (FBK-ISR) and the Centre for Digital Society (FBK-DIGIS). FBK-ISR conducts multi-disciplinary research on the multifaceted relationship between religion and societal changes, and includes expertise in sociology, philosophy and ethics. FBK-ISR collaborates with national and international partners to better understand the anthropological, philosophical, legal, social and political implications of the digital revolution and Artificial Intelligence (AI). FBK-DIGIT is a hub for the development of technologies and applications with social and economic impact. The DIGIS Research Unit i3 (Intelligent, interfaces and interaction), in particular, has among its research objectives the development of innovative and inclusive technologies and the investigation of how people use and benefit from these technologies and services. DIG4FUTURE supports synergies between the two centers to jointly explore the values and limits associated with AI and with an increasing diversity of cultures and lifestyles in the digital society. In the last years, FBK has been involved in local, national and international initiatives and projects for supporting inclusive practices for robotics, STEM education, and for contrasting hate speech on social networks and online channels.

For 32 years, Save the Children Romania has been creating social programmes, public policies and solid practices to the benefit of the child in Romania. Due to the expertise and complexity of its nationwide projects, the organization is a key social institution, the role of which is to mediate between the society and the public authority, to the benefit of the child. In more than three decades of activity, Save the Children has actively participated in the society, identifying concrete solutions for protecting and supporting vulnerable children, while also advocating for viable collaboration with the decision-making authorities, to ensure the best interest of the child. Save the Children took on the role of a vigilant supervisor of the public authorities, so that they implement long-lasting public policies that correct the causes which make the children vulnerable. As member of Save the Children Association, the world’s largest independent organization that promotes children’s rights, includes 30 members and conducts programmes in more than 120 countries, our VISION is a world that respects each and every child’s right to survival, education, protection and participation, undertaking the MISSION of achieving significant progress on how children are treated and producing immediate and lasting change in their life. In 32 years of activity, more than 2,920,000 children were involved in the programmes and campaigns of Save the Children Romania.

Partners Bulgaria Foundation (PBF) is committed to improve the child protection system in Bulgaria. Since its inception in 1998, Partners Bulgaria has initiated numerous projects aiming at improvement of child access to quality education, adequate health care and social protection. Children from vulnerable social groups are the main target group in PBF projects. A child rights and child-centred approach is at the core of the organization’s work, and child participation is of main importance. PBF believes that children deserve protection and a future without violence, the chance to grow healthy, to receive education and to grow in a peaceful environment. Partners Bulgaria Foundation works toward achieving its goals through the following activities: research, analysis, evaluation and policy recommendations concerning socially marginalized groups (including ethnic minorities, children without parental care, children and youths at risk, under-aged offenders and others); training in soft skills such as effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, mediation, civic education; services related to supporting children at risk and their families; cooperative planning, facilitation of meetings and decision making; public campaigns.
